Investigation of Hydrothermal Performance in Micro-Channel Heat Sink with Periodic Rectangular Fins

The micro-channel heat sink (MCHS) is an excellent choice due to its exceptional cooling capabilities, surpassing those of competitors. In this research paper, a computational fluid dynamics analysis was performed investigate the laminar flow and transfer characteristics five different configurations variable geometry rectangular fin. study utilized water-cooled smooth MCHS as basis. results indicate that with fin has better dissipation capacity than straight-type sink, but at same time, it larger pressure loss. Based on various shapes Reynolds numbers in study, fins exhibits Nusselt friction factors are 1.40–2.02 2.64–4.33 times higher, respectively, compared sink. This significant improvement performance evaluation criteria ranging from 1.23–1.95. Further, found relatively small number, obvious advantages terms overall performance. Meanwhile, advantage will decrease when number large.
